Talking Giants-Vikings With The Athletic’s Charlotte Carroll
The Giants are making their first postseason appearance in six years this Sunday when they travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings in a Wild Card matchup.
The game has a number of interesting angles for both teams who have both had their ups and downs.
Winners of six of their first seven games, the Giants went 3-6-1 once the schedule got tougher and kind of stumbled their way into the playoffs.
The Vikings finished the regular season with what looks like a stellar 13-4 record.
But that number is deceiving. VERY deceiving.
Their 40-3 loss to the Cowboys on November 20 was beyond embarrassing.
In the subsequent two weeks they barely beat a struggling Patriots team, and had to claw their way to a win over the Jets.
And then there was that crazy overtime win against the Colts on December 17th in which they somehow came back from a 33-point deficit.
They give up points. Lots of them. In fact only the 4-13 Cardinals and 3-14 Bears gave up more than the Vikings during the regular season.
