When Is The Right time To Take Down Your Christmas Decorations For The Year?
I was raised in Ocean County New Jersey and have lived in various areas of the Garden State throughout my life. I’m now a resident of Bergen County. And I’ll tell you this – no matter where I’ve lived in Jersey, it always seems like everyone has a differing opinion on when to take down Christmas Decorations. I know some of you took the lights down and put away the inflatables the day after Christmas and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s efficient, it’s organized, and the holiday is, I guess, technically past.
But what if you like the lights and décor. Is there anything wrong with leaving them up longer? I don’t think so. I mean, who is it hurting? If they make you happy, why not leave them up a little later. Heck, I know some people in my neighborhood that leave their lights up hanging from the gutter and trim all year round. There really isn’t a right or wrong answer to this, but if you follow the calendar than today or tomorrow would be the ideal time to take the decorations down. And if you march to the beat of your own drum, then go ahead…..leave them up until Spring. You might get some weird looks, but if you like it, isn’t it all that matters? It’s your house anyway. So, if you ask, when is the right time to take down your Christmas decorations for the year? I say it’s your call!
