Jersey Kid Reacts To Classic Metal, Master of Puppets
There are plenty of Metal Fans in New Jersey! From classic bands like Metallica and Maiden to modern heavier artists like Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold. At WDHA, we like to crank up the metal each Friday night at 11 pm. The show is Metal With The Mikes, hosted by myself Mike Anthony, and my colleague Mike Bufis. Since metal is so important to me, I thought I’d introduce my son to a few tracks and see his thoughts. So, today I bring you a New Jersey Kid Reacts To A Classic Metal Song – Part 1.
Kid Reacts to “Stranger Things”
To start, I thought I’d pick something from my favorite band, Metallica. So, I brought him to my studio/office and had “Master Of Puppets” cued up to play. He asked if he was going to like it and I said, “I Hope so”. But I also told him that it was completely ok if he didn’t. The song started and immediately he said “I know this right? It’s the song that was in Stranger Things!” I started to laugh. Of course, he remembers this song from the show. It’s an iconic moment in the episode in which it’s featured. Plus, it’s an awesome tune. But what did he think?
Well, he started to “dance” around and seemed to get hyped. He said, “Dad this song is really cool.” When I asked him what he liked about it, he kind of hinted that he was into the loud guitars. And he loved the part in the middle before the solo builds. Overall, he liked it a lot, but did say it was a little long and wasn’t sure why LOL. I told him Metallica has a knack for long songs and extending songs maybe a little more than usual!
This was overall a really fun experience and am looking forward to playing his 2nd song. We have to start these metalheads off young!
