Avenged Sevenfold Isn’t Messing With TikTok
Certain Bands have specific ways of how they blow up or gain new fans. One of the ways could be by going viral on a social media or video platform like Tik Tok. But Avenged Sevenfold Isn’t Messing with TikTok. In fact, frontman M. Shadows says he’s too old for the Tik Tok crap. LOL
Of course TikTok numbers are important. As are followers on Instagram and subscribers on YouTube, etc. It helps the band get word out about music and tours and even convert people into fans. However it’s not always necessary or doesn’t always work. And especially for a band like Avenged Sevenfold.
Shadows explained that what record labels do is go to TikTok and take someone who’s already gone viral, but who doesn’t have a label and give them a crappy deal. But in all reality the label can’t do much for them. In a recent interview on the topic he talked about the fact that the higher ups or powers that be were trying to figure out how to create a viral TikTok moment. And he said “What? I’m a 42-year-old man, I’m not trying to figure out how to do a viral TikTok moment. I’m sorry. “
When you think about it, A7X doesn’t need to do anything like that. They’re kind of ahead of their time and always thinking about the future. They were on top of NFT’s, and have codes to scan with your phone on their latest album. They know how to engage with the listeners and a fake viral TikTok moment really isn’t them. I think this could work for up and coming bands, depending on their style and image, but it can’t be a one size fits all kind of thing.
Avenged Sevenfold, by the way, getting ready to celebrate anniversaries next year for “Nightmare” and “City Of Evil”.
