Mastodon and Lamb Of God Team Up For New Song
In the world of metal, there are a lot of great bands. Mastodon and Lamb Of God are two of them. And now Mastodon and Lamb Of God have teamed up for a song!
It’s a collaborative single called “Floods of Triton” and it just plain rocks. It’s high energy, loud and in your face, but also still has the melody you’ve come to expect from both bands regardless of how heavy they get. This single comes just at the end of their co-headlining tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their classic albums “Leviathan” and “Ashes of The Wake.” Those two albums are must-listens….they’re incredible all the way through. Which to me is always a great experience.
The song was recorded at Mastodon’s own West End Sound in Atlanta and was produced by Mastodon and Tyler Bates, highly regarded in his own right for his scores for Guardians of The Galaxy, John Wick, MaXXXine, and more.
This awesome collaboration also serves as a bookend for the bands’ popular summer tour, which celebrated to landmark albums for the bands. Mastodon’s Leviathan and Lamb of God’s Ashes of the Wake not only were turning points in each band’s career but also helped shape the metal genre for the future.
This new song “Floods of Triton” has that raw energy of the bands’ earlier material but you can also get a bit of a taste as to where each band is headed. And that’s in a positive direction, to say the least!
I love it when bands collab. Recently Halestorm and I Prevail teamed up for “Can You See Me In The Dark.” It’s such an amazing tune and we get so many requests at DHA for it. Hopefully, more bands will decide to go the route of collaboration, because we can get some great material out of it!
“Floods of Triton” is out now on Loma Vista Recordings.
