Rest In Peace Goose- We LOVED Your WDHA Days- New Jersey’s Tony Siragusa has died
TC here and Matt Murray hit me up first telling me about the passing of New Jersey native and legendary Defensive Tackle Tony Siragusa. Matt and “The Goose” had a special connection back in DHA history.
Back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s Tony was Matt’s “Co-Host” for WDHA’s Monday Night Football broadcasts from Tiff’s Locations in Morris Plains, Pine Brook and Union. What a great and WILD time those broadcasts were! Can you imagine…..I’m in charge trying to control Matt AND THE GOOSE? No way! He then became an NFL Games Broadcaster from 2003-2015 and was absolutely amazing…..
Tony was born in Kenilworth and was an NFL Defensive Tackle who spent 12 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts and the Baltimore Ravens.
A super fun guy we always had a blast with him behind the mic. TMZ reported his death earlier with no further details….Matt Murray posted- “This one is hard to take…still don’t truly believe it, But those who remember when I would do the Monday night football broadcast from his restaurants “Tiffany’s” on WDHA he was a fun guy. Great football player and great sense of humor… haven’t seen him in years, but when I would run into him always bought me a drink and would bust my balls about a girl I dated in his neighborhood. And this guy was as Jersey as you get. RIP Goose”
I ran into him a few times at the shore and he always remembered his days behind the mic with Matt. What a legend.
Wonderful Football and WDHA memories indeed ……..A NJ Legend……Rest Easy Tony
