The "Furry Friends Fiesta" Is Coming To Denville New Jersey! - Stop by and adopt your new best friend!

It's Terrie Carr and I'm always energized to see local businesses in our community getting involved in Animal Rescue. It's such a fantastic way to do community outreach.

Helping animal rescue organizations checks many boxes.  The rescue groups involved gain public attention which leads not only to an increase in adoptions, but also funds raised for vetting, food, and overall care, and a sense of gratitude and joy for those who selflessly run the adoption organizations.

It also helps the animals find forever homes AND helps families find new furry members.

And it helps local businesses gain a sense of giving back and generates an overall positive feeling regarding their establishments.

I was thrilled to find out that The Lucia C. Salon and Station Plaza on Rt. 53 in Denville is supporting an adoption event with "Cold Nose, Warm Heart"- Animal Rescue of New Jersey. Cold Nose Warm Heart Website

On Cinco De Mayo - Sunday, May 5th from 11a-2p.
Come out and meet Furry Friends and enjoy the "Fiesta" where furry friends find their forever homes in a heartwarming celebration with wagging tails, and endless opportunities to make a difference in a dog's life. And Cinco is the perfect day to do a Furry Friends Fiesta too!

There are refreshments from Cafe Delhi and Cass D' Pizza, raffles, giveaways, and awesome pets!

Hello Animal Loving Rockers!

I can't believe we are coming up on the 14th anniversary of our Rock N' Ruff initiative! Let me rewind.

When I returned to WDHA in 2010, I knew how crowded many of our local New Jersey animal shelters were. The vet care, food, supplies, and most of all "awareness" that needed to be raised was immense.  What I also knew is that rockers love their pets and when we put the call out to help us with photo shoots, events, video pieces, donation items, etc, our rock community would step up! And they did. We have reached out to our rock community to stop by our events, come by, and take photos to get shelter pets noticed or visit local shelters with us. Everyone has been so spectacular and enthusiastic to help out!

Over the years WDHA's Rock N' Ruff has helped find homes for thousands of shelter pets, and we love hearing about adoptions, Happy Tails, and receiving photos of many of the animals adopted from Shelter groups we have featured on our RNR Program. We have also had such support from our WDHA listening family who have been so generous with donations, supplies, and the volunteering of their time either fostering, walking, socializing, or becoming a part of the shelter community by helping in any way they can.

We are also thrilled that when rockers stop by our studios for an interview, performance, or hang they feel super comfortable bringing their own best friends because they know how pet-friendly we are at WDHA, and we always welcome rockers and THEIR pets to our studio too, I mean come on- why shouldn't their best friends be a part of the interview? Steven Van Zandt brought his sweet pup "Edie" to hang when he was on my show and Go-Go's drummer Gina Schock loves bringing her baby "Penny" everywhere and we loved having her at WDHA.

So let's look back with just a few photos from our station archives.

We are honored to be the radio pioneers of merging Rock and Rescue and love having a pet-friendly environment for shelter artists and our staff who often bring our pups to the studios. It's a madhouse and we love it! (Or should I say "doghouse")
