The GRAMMY Museum Experience™ Prudential Center located in Newark, New Jersey announced today (September 13) the RECORD HIGH program.
The RECORD HIGH program is a robust, cutting edge, contemporary music education program designed to prepare high school students for a career in the music industry both on and off the stage. Students will have the unique opportunity to learn from world class professionals and interact with GRAMMY® Award winners and music industry executives.
For the launch of its annual scholarship program, the RECORD HIGH program has partnered with the Devils Youth Foundation (DYF). Individual awards of $1,000 will be given to twelve high school seniors from New Jersey who demonstrate notable talent in music and leadership roles within their local communities.
“The Devils Youth Foundation is proud to partner with RECORD HIGH and the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center to launch this scholarship program which will work to further support and expand the arts in New Jersey,” said Allison Blitzer, Chair of the Devils Youth Foundation in a press release. “As the Foundation continues to create real changes for the youth of New Jersey, we believe this program will give many talented students the opportunity to express their musical abilities. This is a fantastic representation of the work the Foundation strives to do, with a focus on encouraging arts and entertainment for the students in our surrounding communities.”
In addition to the $1,000 scholarship, each student will be invited to attend a mutually agreed upon event at Prudential Center and participate in all RECORD HIGH after-school education programs for the balance of their senior year. They will also be featured on the New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center social media platforms and GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center website.
“The realization of RECORD HIGH is a watershed moment for the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center,” said Mark Conklin, Director of Artist Relations and Programming at the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center. “Our program prides itself on engaging, guiding, and supporting the next generation of music professionals right here in our home city of Newark.
