It feels like 1969 all over again - in addition to recent releases from the Beatles and Rolling Stones, there's a new Jimi Hendrix Experience album, and new music from Dion on today's All Mixed Up.
The Hendrix album is of particular interest.
Recorded in August 1967 at the Hollywood Bowl where the Experience was opening for AM hit makers the Mamas and Papas, they were still largely unknown in the United States. While their first album had already been released in England, it wouldn't come out in America for another week or so.
Hendrix had already appeared at the Monterey Pop Festival in June, and had briefly opened for the Monkees on their 1967 summer tour, but it's safe to say that no one in attendance that night at the Bowl were there to see Jimi.
And like the Monkees' shows, the audience wasn't ready to experience the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

WDHA’s Parking Lot Party With Austin Meade ( VIDEO Performances)
Our WDHA parking Lot Party series has ended and if you weren't lucky enough to win on the air and secure your space in the lot, we will give you a "PLP" re-cap by including all SEVEN of Austin Meade's Parking Lot Performances.
Austin and his guitarist David Willie wowed the crowd with performances, storytelling and a super fun fan experience at the WDHA Horsehill Road studios and our Parking Lot Party series went out with a BANG!
Austin os a talented musician out of Texas who grew up loving hair bands with his dad, playing drums and guitar and teaching at The School Of Rock. He has toured with Godsmack, I Prevail and many more and has played some of the biggest rock festivals in the country. Austin and his band are currently on the road with Dirty Honey and stopped by our WDHA studios and Parking Lot to play for some lucky fans.
The Austin Meade band is Austin Meade (Lead vocal, guitar), David Willie (Lead guitar, harmony vocals), Seth Foster (bass, harmony vocals) and Brandon Turner (Drums). And they are killer!
Austin is a perfectionist as well and wants to bring it every time so when he heard we usually do four tunes as part of our Parking Lot Parties, he immediately said "Well - I'll do seven"! (No complaints from me or our 50 contest winners...)
Check out Austin and David "Willie" Willie's performances below and thanks to William Clanton our engineer for mixing sound and Tom Stark for the video work. And of course to Austin Meade, his band and fantastic crew (special thanks to Tiago) for your hospitality. Special thanks to Tapt Event Services - Tapt Event Services- "Take Your Party To The Next Level"-
