Jersey Magazine 1-1-23
Happy New Year and welcome to 2023. Each week on the Jersey Magazine we pick topics of local interest to our listeners. This week, Jim Monaghan talks about some different ways to approach 2023, besides the traditional “new year…new me” stuff you’re seeing all over your social media feeds.
When we started this show in August 2021, the idea was to bring various guests in to discuss various topics of importance to WDHA listeners.
Some of the main topics that have been brought up over the past year-plus have included mental health and youth sports.
As we start a new year’s worth of programming this morning, Jim Monaghan spends time talking about the idea of resolutions versus goals, what your “one word” for 2023 is, and what kind of legacy we will each leave behind someday.
This week on Rock N’ Ruff, say “hello” to Peppermint Patty from Randolph Regional Animal Shelter. This beautiful girl is so friendly, happy and affectionate. She is always smiling! After being found in Paterson after being hit by a car, she is totally fine and waiting for a family to call her own. She loves attention, walks, car rides and EVERYONE!
COACH SHEETS’ RIDE IN – Jeremy Sheetinger is the head baseball coach at Georgia Gwinnett College where he led the Grizz Gang to the 2021 NAIA National Championship. His weekly “fire me up” tweet every Thursday may, on the surface, be geared toward his fellow baseball coaches, but his motivational message can easily be applied to the classroom, workplace, and your personal relationships. As we kick off 2023, here is a tip from Coach Sheets on Communication 101.

We all struggle to remember names of folks that we just met…
Two tips from your Uncle Sheets:
• Pause before saying your name. Truly HEAR their name
• Say it before you say yours. Then say it 3X in a minute
