The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame will be announcing nominees for the class of 2023 tomorrow at 8 AM ET. The question many have is - Will this be the year of acknowledging some acts that many consider overlooked from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s?
I think most of us would agree that there are some very popular and influential bands that still aren’t in the Hall of Fame and this needs to be rectified.
To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released its first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
Take a look at this list and let us know if there’s an artist we’re missing that you think is deserving of at least a nomination.
- Jethro Tull
- Bad Company
- Peter Frampton
- Boston
- Styx
- REO Speedwagon
- Foreigner
- Kansas
- Meat Loaf
- Ozzy Osbourne
- The Guess Who
- Bachman-Turner Overdrive
- Motley Crue
- Warren Zevon
- Iron Maiden
And those are just “older” acts. What about the 90’s? There are certainly some bands that need to be included in the Rock Hall at some point. Will this be the year where the 90’s get a lot of love?
Check this list out:
- Korn
- Blink-182
- The White Stripes
- Soundgarden
- Rage Against the Machine
- Weezer
- Stone Temple Pilots
- Dave Matthews Band
- Kid Rock
Are any of these acts worthy of a nomination in your opinion or is there someone else not listed here that needs to get inducted? The Class of 2023 will be announced in May along with where and when the ceremony will be held.
