How You Can Help the Food Insecure Here in New Jersey
Summer is generally a time for relaxation, but the number of people here in New Jersey who are food insecure this time of year is something that always needs to be addressed.

Learn what you can do to help end food insecurity in your own community.

This week on Rock & Ruff we welcome Joey (Bag-O-Donuts).
Joey is a long term resident of the Associated Humane Societies of Newark New Jersey (close to a year) and not only can we NOT understand why, but the shelter has been a very stressful environment for this friendly, bully mix.
A few fun facts about Joey – he is super friendly, always smiling, likes car rides and walks, is gentle with children (in fact he has met many kids at adoption events and has been just wonderful) and can be both active and a cuddler who settles down with his human and enjoys a good movie or TV show. Joey is described as a “velcro dog” meaning he will stay by your side and be a loyal companion. Joey interacts well with larger dogs his own size (no small pups OR cats for this big boy pleas).
Big dog lovers, let’s get this happy, loving boy out of the stressful shelter and into a great home where he can shine like the star he is! Fostering Joey is also an option, so please inquire if you are interested.
If you would like to meet Joey, please stop by the shelter at 124 Evergreen Avenue in Newark or call them at 973-824-7080.
