New Jack White Album In The Works
Jack White has officially started work on his third solo album.
His Third Man Records has posted a pair of Instagram messages featuring black-and-white photos of White with groups of musicians on July 27 in New York and July 30 in Los Angeles, both revealing that he’s “recording new music for his third solo album” in the captions. No other details were revealed.
White’s second solo album, Lazaretto, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it was released during June of 2014, and its title track won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance. During the interim White toured extensively, released an album with his band the Dead Weather, co-executive produced the PBS music series American Epic and appeared on albums by Beyonce and A Tribe Called Quest.
He’ll be releasing a 10th anniversary edition of the White Stripes‘ Icky Thump this month, while a children’s book based on the White Stripes song “We’re Going To Be Friends” comes out November 7.
