MLB Network’s Bill Ripken on the Jolt
Bill Ripken enjoyed a 12-year MLB playing career, playing with the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers.
One of his many career highlights included playing with his brother, Hall-of-Famer Cal, under his father, Cal Sr. for the Orioles.
Now a studio analyst for the MLB Network, Bill has also just written a book called State of Play: The Old-School Guide to New-School Baseball, an attempt to put the current analytical approach to baseball in perspective.
Bill spoke with Jim Monaghan and John Hodorovych on the Jolt about how to keep baseball from becoming more like a college calculus class, the role of MLB Commissioner Rob Mandfred in the Astros cheating scandal, and the rash of injuries that has been haunting the Yankees.
