5 Tips For Dealing With A Case of Super Bowl Flu
Are you dealing with a case of Super Bowl Flu this morning?
If you are, take heart because you have a LOT of company.
Super Bowl Sunday is almost a national holiday here in the United States, and there are a lot of people who would like to see the day after the game declared a holiday.
Why?
Well, because many of us tend to overdo things a bit, especially if you combine game-time activities with a little pregaming.
How F’d Up Were You?
WDHA, it’s Jim Monaghan with you on a Monday morning here on the DHA Morning Jolt.
On Mondays you know we like to ask you How F’d Up Were You? because you may have overdone it yesterday, and you may be one of more than 16 million Americans who are expected to call out sick today with the Super Bowl Hangover Flu.
We’re talking about 14% of us employees taking at least some time off today because, well, they overdid it yesterday.
The cost to employers expected to be in the billions.
Maybe it was the wings, maybe it was the guac.
Maybe it was all those shots you were doing every time they showed Taylor Swift on screen. Although, to be honest, I don’t think that really would have kicked in until the fourth quarter in overtime because with Kansas City being shut out for most of the first half, there was very little reason to show Tay Tay at all.
Well, just in case you overdid it, here are my five tips for how to deal with the Super Bowl Flu this morning.
- One, hydrate. Drink a lot of water today. I’m a big fan of sport drinks, especially if they do not have sugar in them. Sugar is only going to make that hangover worse.
- Two, mix in some lean proteins today. How about some fruit? Look at me giving diet tips!
- Three, scrambled eggs are easy on the stomach. They taste good, too.
- Four, avoid caffeine to the best of your ability, at least, because that’s only going to make things worse.
- And finally, take two aspirin and call me in the morning.
And that’s this morning’s How F’d Up Were You? here at 105.5 WDHA on the Morning Jolt.
And hopefully you’re not calling in sick today.
