Why Did Florida Man Steal A Vintage Porsche? Steve Martin May Have the Answer
People can come up with some strange excuses for their actions. In today’s episode of FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN! comedian Steve Martin may have the answer as to why someone stole a vintage Porsche.
DATELINE – Sarasota FL
More specifically, the Sarasota Classic Car Museum and Florida Man Daniel Boyce. He had his eyes on a1 977 Porsche and decided “I like that car. I think I should own that car.”
Well, he stole a $250,000 Porsche and went a few miles across town to register it as his own new purchase.
It seems that there is surveillance footage showing an unknown man, we can assume it’s Florida Man, on the property of the Sarasota Classic Car Museum.
At the time the burglary alarm went off in the early morning, a museum employee told the Sarasota Police Department officers that seven different vehicles had to be physically pushed out of the way to remove the ’77 Porsche.
Apparently, Boyce allegedly, of course, used gasoline that was at the Car Museum to start the vehicle. The keys, by the way, just happened to be left on the driver’s side floorboard.
After fleeing the scene, the crook drove to the Department of Motor Vehicles where he used a fake business name to register the car using forged sale papers and serial numbers from another Porsche.

When the police asked, “Did you steal the vehicle?” Boyce said, “I do not recall,” which sounds an awful lot like this –
STEVE MARTIN – You can be a millionaire and never pay taxes. You can have $1 million and never pay taxes. You say, “Steve, how can I be a millionaire and never pay taxes?”
First, get a million dollars. Now you say, “Steve, what do I say to the taxman when he comes to my door and says, “You have never paid taxes?”
Two simple words. Two simple words in the English language – I forgot.
