Florida Man’s Wardrobe Choice Is A Little Too Perfect
When you were younger, did Mom always tell you to wear clean underwear, “in case you get into an accident?”
We’re not exactly sure of the logic behind that, but we’re thinking that in today’s episode of FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN! Mom should have rethought her wardrobe advice to her son.
DATELINE – Ocala and the saga of Florida Man James Rix Jr.
He was driving an orange pickup truck barreling past a patrol car that was doing a radar stop. So the incident caught on dash cam radar, confirming the vehicle that Rix was driving, doing 89 in a 45 miles an hour zone.
The deputy, he activated his emergency lights and a siren because he wanted Rix to pull over. Well, Rix fled from the deputy and then turned the lights off on his truck. Maybe he thought that would make the truck invisible. I don’t know.
It didn’t work. The deputy caught up to him. Body camera video shows deputies conducted a DUI traffic stop on Rix.
Deputy said he could smell alcohol on Rix’ breath, that he was unsteady on his feet. The sheriff’s office said Rix failed his field sobriety exercises.
They placed him under arrest. Deputies say Rix went from cooperative and in a good mood to verbally aggressive. He was transported to the Marion County Jail, where he provided breath samples almost three times over the legal limit.
Rix charged with DUI and fleeing to elude a law enforcement officer. He also received traffic citations for unlawful speed and possession of an open container in a vehicle.
Oh, but wait. There’s more, as there always is with Florida Man, because when they arrested him for the DUI, Rix was wearing a shirt that said, “I’m the reason the beer’s always gone.”
Talk about truth in advertising.
