Florida Man’s Timing For A Nap Helps Land Him In Jail
DATELINE – Jackson County FL
Everyone can use a good nap, even Florida Man.
The problem for Florida Man was that his timing for that nap helped land him in jail.
According to police reports, Jackson County Police received a call a few days ago around 5:30 in the morning from someone who said there was someone sleeping in a vehicle in his (the victim’s) yard.
Now we don’t know about you, but if we saw someone suspicious sound asleep in a car in front of our house at that hour of the morning, the absolute LAST thing we would do is go out to the car.
Then again, this is Florida Man we’re talking about.
So the homeowner, armed with some kind of weapon, went out to the car to speak with the suspect who started frantically rummaging around his car for God-knows-what.
Luckily, that was the point at which the police arrived, securing both the suspect and the homeowner’s weapon.
Inside the vehicle, police saw a whole laundry list of items including some tools, a mask, a crowbar, lock pick, gloves, knives, brass knuckles, prescription medication that was not prescribed to the suspect and additional drug paraphernalia.
The suspect was identified as Charles Leon Carter, and he has a criminal record involving drug use and theft.
Carter was arrested and charged with a variety of crimes including attempted burglary, carrying a concealed weapon, armed trespassing, possession of burglary tools and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.
