It’s TC and I truly enjoy the vibe of local shopping. Supporting our local retailers, giving back to the community and the social act of shopping, especially as part of our WDHA community is never a chore. I LOVE it!
One of my favorite local places is Home Towne Pet Shoppe with locations in West Caldwell (Bloomfield Ave) and Pompton Lakes (at Pompton Lakes Town Square).
(I usually head to West Caldwell since it’s closer to me)
It’s always nice to get out with my pups and grab some food, treats and pet necessities and get them socialized and tired out!
Hone Towne is truly the BEST. The staff is so knowledgeable and friendly and I am always so impressed with the relationship they have with their clientele. Lynn and Sam (the owners) truly run a HOME TOWNE PET SHOPPE!
They hooked me up with awesome food for my pups which really helped Star’s tummy troubles and Rosie’s weight control.
They have everything for health, wellness (I need things to help Star who has many special needs with her recent paralysis) and the greatest toys I have ever seen!
And they even helped us sell our WDHA Ultimate Rock Dogs charity calendars, carrying them right in the store for us- (a few still available in West Caldwell)

The Selection of Food Choices Is Absolutely Incredible For EVERY Species
My dogs used to eat crap. I thought the food was good, but it wasn’t. I switched to Go Solutions and not only has it helped them have more stable tummy’s, but they love the food and have really maintained perfect weight. We eat the Go Solutions – Salmon and they love it. Small critter food, aquatic food and they are there to help with all of your questions. Home Towne also offers free local delivery with a $50 or more order!
They have a massive selection of dog and cat food. Fantastic treats, bakery and raw bar too.
The Most Unique and Amazing Toys
Their toy section is crazy awesome! Things I have never seen before. Huge selection, topical and timely (as you can see for Valentines Day) toys to keep the mind and body busy, unique designs, check out a few of Rosie’s favorites.

There are great personal touches like vaccine clinics and your ability to wash your pet in a beautiful, clean spa like environment. Their self serve pet wash is only $10 for 45 minutes and shampoo, towels and dryers are included AND they offer different heights and sizes for your dog. I was ready to jump in! And I love their selection of shampoos, doggie wipes and cleansers for purchase too. And home candles to get the “funk out” if needed!
