Only Florida Man Would Find This Floating Around In His Swimming Pool
Take a busy intersection. Add in an SUV and a swimming pool. Factor in Florida Man playing the part of a superhero. You have yourself the perfect scenario for an epic tale!
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE – North Lauderdale and the Saga of Florida Man William Marts. Now, to set this up, if you’re familiar with some of the busier intersections in our area, and I think of Five Points in Union, if you know where Galloping Hill Road meets there, Five Corners, Jersey City, a lot going on at that intersection.
Closer to home here in Morristown, you have that intersection off the Green at the bottom of the hill where Morris Avenue, Morris Street and Spring Street where they all meet. So that kind of sets the scene for what’s going on here.
As you will see in the video here, Marts was sitting in his house a few days ago when he heard a loud crash.
When he went outside to see what happened, he discovered that a silver SUV had crashed through his fence at the busy intersection of Southgate Boulevard and Southwest 71st Avenue.
Oh, but wait. Because as is often the case with Florida Man, there’s more.
Not only did the SUV crash through Marts’ fence, but it landed in his swimming pool
Marts jumped into his pool to find a driver and child in the vehicle, so like any true superhero, he worked on helping them get out of the vehicle.
He was aided by an off-duty Broward Sheriff’s Office detective who was passing by when she noticed what had happened.
The driver and passenger were taken to the hospital for treatment and were deemed to be okay.
Marts also went to the hospital and did the interview for a local Florida television station still in his hospital gown!
