It Was A Routine Traffic Stop – Until Florida Man Gave Police His Driver’s License
It was supposed to be a routine traffic stop for what the police said was a “minor infraction.” But when it comes to Florida Man, there was no such thing as “routine” once he handed his license over.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE – Haines City and the saga of Florida man Robert Brush, who had his own “brush” with the law. Perhaps he should have brushed off his license.
We’ll get into that in a moment.
You get stopped for a routine stop, minor traffic violation. You know the drill. License and registration, please.
If you’re smart, it, you just hand it over. Yes, sir.
Some years ago, I decided to cut to the chase and I took my seatbelt off so I could get to my wallet, knowing I was going to have to present my license. The officer saw that I did not have my seatbelt on and I had a ticket for that.
But anyway, it’s not about that.
This is about Robert Brush driving on a Haines City roadway just a few days ago. He was pulled over for a minor traffic violation. When he was asked to provide license and registration, he did. But the officer noticed that there was something on the license. It felt a little funny.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office Twitter account, Mr. Brush’s traffic infraction was minor, but it was how he identified himself which got him into trouble because allegedly, of course, when Brush turned over his license to the officer, it was covered with a white powdery substance that turned out to test positive for methamphetamine.
There was a K-9 officer brought onto the scene as well, and the K-9 officer recovered 16 grams of meth from the vehicle.
Robert Brush’s brush with the law resulted in his arrest. According to the sheriff’s office, he was taken to the Polk County jail, all because of a minor traffic infraction and Mr. Brush’s inability to, and I’m quoting the police department here, “brush off his license.”
