A Simple Request For A Glass of Water Leads To Florida Man In Jail
How’s this for a neat trick – Florida Man asks for a glass of water and ends up in jail on $40,000 bond.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE – Marion County, and the Saga of Florida man Bruce Hudson, who was taking a walk down a residential street, was a little thirsty, asked a resident for a glass of water, and that ended up with Hudson being arrested and charged with burglary with assault or battery, criminal mischief, aggravated assault with the intent to commit a felony, and larceny, grand theft.
You may be wondering, how did all this happen over a simple glass of water?
As we said, Hudson was walking through a neighborhood, spotted a resident and said, excuse me, sir, I’m thirsty. Could I have a glass of water?
The resident, being the good Samaritan that he was, said, sure, come on in.
Hudson gets inside and says, you know what? I’ve changed my mind. Could I have a beer instead? So the homeowner goes back into the kitchen to get the beer, at which point Hudson allegedly went into the man’s bedroom and started going through his things.
Now the homeowner, when he got wind of what was going on, told Hudson to stop, but Hudson then hit him in the face.
The homeowner briefly went outside to let his neighbors know what was going on and ask for help. That is when Hudson – and again allegedly – grabbed a mallet-style hammer, banged a hole into the wall, shattered a glass end table, and left. But not before he had grabbed a bunch of items and thrown them into a bag, including the homeowner’s immigration papers, a passport, a laptop, an iPad, three watches, and a gold ring.
Deputies found the bag that Hudson had taken in the front yard. The rest of the items and Hudson were subsequently discovered in a neighbor’s house who had contacted the police.
When the cops caught up with Hudson, he placed the blame on the homeowner for starting the fight in the first place. He also denied taking anything.
Then later, in a different encounter with the police, after they found all of the missing items, Hudson changed his story and said, well, I was set up by my friend Frankie. We have no idea who Frankie is.
So at any rate, what we have now is conflicting stories. And Hudson being transported to the Marion county jail, where he is in custody on $40,000 bond.
That was one expensive glass of water for Hudson.
