From speeds of 110 miles per hour on a motorcycle, to the fake "McLovin" license plate, to the time he made a phone call to Dear Old Mom, this is classic Florida Man at his best!
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE - Tampa and the Saga of Florida Man Jesse Rivera.
Maybe it was the 110 miles an hour he was doing on his motorcycle. Maybe it was the fake license plate.
Either way, he's got himself in trouble.
The chase is on
Rivera was spotted by a trooper swerving between vehicles at a high speed on his motorcycle a couple of days ago, little after 1 AM.
The motorcycle was said to have had fake plates on it at the time, which read "McLovin," a reference, of course, to one of the jokes from the movie Superbad.
That trooper attempted to stop Rivera, but Rivera sped off when he saw the cop. Florida Highway Patrol says an officer with the St. Petersburg Police and a deputy with the Pinellas Sheriff's Department both had already tried to stop Rivera unsuccessfully.
The Florida Highway Patrol trooper then turned off his lights and siren and went incognito, followed Rivera until Rivera saw the guy and recognized its police car.
He attempted to take off again, but Rivera slipped a gear and killed the engine, according to the arrest report.
"You're on my f#*&ing foot, bro!"
So before he could start the bike up and speed off again, the trooper grabbed Rivera off the motorcycle, which caused the vehicle to fall on both Rivera and the trooper. Rivera not happy about that. "You're on my bleeping foot, bro," Rivera shouted at the trooper. "You're standing on it." To which the trooper shot back, "No, I'm not."
Turns out it was the motorcycle that was on Rivera's foot.
Rivera ended up being taken to the hospital for a broken foot, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. But he did ask, "Can I call my mom?"
Can you imagine THAT phone call?
So Rivera in the hospital, then arrested, and as the troopers said to Rivera, "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes."
Top 5 “Florida Man Strikes Again” Stories For October 2023
We have to admit, it was kind of hard to pick our top five "Florida Man Strikes Again" stories for the month of October because there was just so many good ones to choose from.
We had stolen vehicles, drugs (LOTS of drugs), a return from the dead that was harder than Florida Man certainly would have wanted to be, a return to the scene of the crime, and we couldn't leave out a bad movie choice by a teacher for his students.
Choosing only five meant leaving some real gems behind.
What was your favorite Florida Man story for October?
Returning To This Walmart Was A Bad Choice For These Florida Women
We don’t know about you, but if we were to commit a crime, probably the absolute last place we would venture 24 hours later would be the exact scene of that crime.
And yet that is exactly what these two Florida Women did.

Florida Man Goes For A Job Interview and Then Steals Worst Possible Car
Florida Man was in need a job. So he went on a job interview.
For some reason, he decided to steal a car in the parking lot of the interview, a Cadillac SUV.
Turns out it was the worst possible car he could have chosen, thanks to GM’s OnStar Guardian feature which apparently can take command of the vehicle at the worst possible time for Florida Man.
