Florida Man Goes For A Job Interview and Then Steals Worst Possible Car
Florida Man was in need a job. So he went on a job interview.
For some reason, he decided to steal a car in the parking lot of the interview, a Cadillac SUV.
Turns out it was the worst possible car he could have chosen, thanks to GM’s OnStar Guardian feature which apparently can take command of the vehicle at the worst possible time for Florida Man.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE – Orlando and the Saga of Florida Man Jacob Thompson.
Jacob Thompson was scheduled for a job interview at the Pilot Travel Center in Lake, Wales. What happened, actually, was that he reportedly stole a 2022 Cadillac SUV from that Pilot Travel Center.
Polk County deputies were made aware that Thompson was approaching a certain intersection, and when Thompson spotted one of the deputies’ unmarked cars, you would think, since he spotted that he’s done this before. He’s not an amateur when it comes to this sort of thing.
He began accelerating and turning onto the ramp of I-4. During the chase, Thompson reportedly reached speeds of 100 miles an hour, to which OnStar advised him they were going to shut the engine off.
Perhaps it sounded something like this voice –
To hear your OnStar hands-free calling number, say “my number.” You can say, “dial, call directory.”
I don’t know if you can say, “Please don’t stop the car” or not.
Well, at any rate, the deputy chasing Thompson slowed down as he realized what was happening, watched the car go out of control. Since the vehicle had suddenly shut off, it crashed into the right hand guardrail.
Thompson then got out of the car and began running before he was eventually detained. After a short struggle, Thompson faces several felony charges.
Oh, by the way, he’s also already on felony probation for burglary and assault, and I really, really doubt that he got the job.
