This Amazon Driver Isn’t Letting Anything Stop Him
An Amazon driver isn’t letting any kind of SWAT-team incident get in the way of his delivery schedule on today’s episode of Weird News. This Amazon Driver Isn’t Stopping For…

An Amazon driver isn't letting any kind of SWAT-team incident get in the way of his delivery schedule on today's episode of Weird News.
FUZZY - Today in Weird News, an Amazon driver in North Carolina made a commitment to deliver all his packages and isn't going to let anything get in his way.
As law enforcement was engaged in a 24-hour standoff with an armed suspect barricaded inside the house, an Amazon delivery man got out of his truck, walked towards a SWAT team member, and handed a package to the officer.
He then snapped a photo of the delivery as proof that the package has arrived on time.
I must admit, I'm quite impressed with his punctuality.
He was calm, cool, and nonchalant during the entire standoff.
I wonder if this is part of the delivery man's creed that Newman had to follow back in the day - "Nor rain, nor snow, nor large SWAT team presence with an armed suspect...."
Ah, well, there you have it.
I'm sure if a Calzone was involved his opinion would change.
Nonetheless, I would rate the delivery experience hands down, five stars, or should I say hands up since we are dealing with the SWAT team?
And lastly in Weird News, subway workers in New York called police after they saw a cat inside one of the underground tunnels.
When officers showed up, they found the fright and feline tangled up in the feather boa. It's unknown how the cat became wrapped up in such a fashionable accessory, whether it had been playing with it and got tangled, or if someone tied her up in it.
I guess that's a good question to ask, but I wonder if this is part of some deep underground lifestyle of cats we humans just don't know about.
Next on the catwalk we have Beyo, a frightened feline who appears to be sporting a pink feather boa.
Designed by hand using the latest materials, any playful and curious cat can find themselves in a tangled mess in just a few short minutes.
Just like chasing a red dot of a laser pointer on the wall or jumping on top of a toy mouse on his stick, exhaustion will soon take over any frisky feline looking for help from their human master.
Let's give a round of applause to Beyo the cat as she struts herself back down the catwalk with such poise and delicacy.
And at this time we can start taking bids on this beautiful boa.
That is a nice starting bid. Come on people, don't be cheap.
An underground fashion show for cats? Nah, that can't be going on, it's gotta be a conspiracy theory.
And that's DHA's Weird News.
NJ Picks Five Bands With The Most Interesting Lyrics
Five Bands with Interesting Lyrics. That’s what we’re going to take a look at today. There are many great lyricists out there, but not all of them churn out thought-provoking lyric after thought-provoking lyric. It’s difficult to do. But Jersey has answered the call with who can get us thinking or tell a story consistently in their music.
At 5 pm each day I have a feature called First Call Last Call. It’s a themed set of music that I put together based on the answers to the question of the day that I post at 4 pm to the DHA Facebook page. DHA listeners have the best answers and it’s always a treat being able to read their responses and hear their opinions.
So, yesterday I asked for bands or artists that have the best lyrics in their music. So many amazingly talented artists to choose from and it’s tough to just pick one, but many were able to comment with their overall favorite. It’s tough to decide because do you prefer fantastical stories? Historical events? Emotional and introspective themes? There are so many types of lyricists that it becomes difficult to really distinguish who’s the best. That’s why I always say, the question of the day is just a matter of opinion!
I love it when a band or artist can tell a complete story in 3 to 4 minutes. I find that very challenging and cool when it’s pulled off well. But whatever you prefer, the responses I received were filled with rockers you really can’t argue with. They have solid lyric writing! Some are still with us and some aren’t. But those words live on forever.
So let’s dive in...
Five bands with interesting lyrics
ROLL THE BONES - RUSH
This band was always interesting. Whether they were making a statement or telling us of some fantastical story. They could write and get you hooked in just one line!!! And that's no small feat.
NEARLY FORGT MY BROKEN HEART - CHRIS CORNELL
Whether Chris was writing in Soundgarden, or his solo material and any other project. It felt like he always had something to say. And it was usually deep - requiring you to pull back the layers! A true poet
FOOL IN THE RAIN - LED ZEPPELIN
Here's another band that covered all sorts of material. No matter what they were singing about it made you want to dissect the lyrics for hidden meanings. Very cool and so well done. On Top of their amazing playing!
SECOND CHANCE - SHINEDOWN
Shinedown can be motivational. They can tell a story. They can be heartfelt. And usually it's all done within 3 and a half minutes. Great lyric writing consistently!
RUN TO THE HILLS - IRON MAIDEN
Lyrics based on wars, demons, and fantasy. It's all sorts of riveting and so easy to get lost in. Very cool stuff!
