Florida Man possesses some very unique traits. For example, how many people can claim they were robbed, call the police to report the theft, and then end up arrested?
You have to admit, not many can pull that kind of stunt off. But as you will hear in today's episode, this particular Florida Man has a history of doing really stupid things, especially when it comes to our legal system.
Next time - and given this guy's track record there will most definitely be a next time - he might want to rethink what he does before calling the police or making a court appearance.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE - Tampa Bay and the Saga of Florida Man Eric Thomas.
Thomas called police the other day, saying someone had stolen $10 from him. So the police show up. Thomas approaches them with eleven bags of marijuana. Now, marijuana is still illegal in Florida. Only medical marijuana is allowed.
According to the arrest report, Thomas freely admitted that he was selling the weed, but he said someone ran off with his $10. Well, needless to say, Thomas got arrested on the spot.
But wait, there's more!.
Of course there is. It's Florida Man.
Police searched his wallet, and they also found two small bags of cocaine. So now he's facing charges for that, too.
Oh, but wait, there's even more. Because it is Florida, man.
This isn't even the dumbest thing he's done recently. Just last month, Thomas had to appear in court on separate charges. He got arrested when he brought drugs into the courthouse.
He was emptying his pockets to go through a medical detector. He pulled out seven Ziploc bags of marijuana.
In the past year, Thomas has been convicted of marijuana, cocaine possession, and battery counts. Needless to say, he's in jail. I don't think he's going to be getting out for a while.
I wonder if they ever caught the guy who stole the $10 from him.
