As a general rule, if someone steals something from you, one of the first things you should do is call the police. For one Florida Woman, her first instinct to call the police to report a theft turned out to be the worst thing she could have done.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE - Stuart, Florida. It's actually the Saga of Florida Woman Lily Rinker. Lily thought something had been stolen from her, so she did what you're supposed to do when someone steals from you. She called the police.
However, in this case, it was probably the worst thing she could have done.
Cops say that Rinker called 911 to report that a male friend she had met a week ago, "stole her marijuana."
Rinker said she had about $30 worth of pot in her grinder and then noticed after her friend left the room that half of it was gone. So she decided to call the police.
"I didn't know what else to do," she said.
Well, police ran her ID through their database and discovered that Rinker had a pair of arrest warrants in Palm Beach County - one related to a criminal mischief case, the other in connection with a DUI conviction.
But wait, there's more.
It's a real Family Affair
Rinker had been arrested last year for allegedly striking her father in the face during an argument. What was the argument over? Well, Rinker told cops that she had become upset upon learning that Dear Old Dad had posted online a photo of her holding a vape. She noted that she was a college athlete, she played golf in college. and could not be seen holding a vape.
I think the vape picture right now is probably the least of her concerns. I highly doubt the college athletic career is still going.
Rinker is currently in jail and being held without bond.
