If Florida Woman thought she had the perfect (if a little strange) hiding place to fool the police, she had another thing coming.
Because if going through the couch cushions isn't already standard operating procedure for Florida police officers, perhaps it should definitely be included, because you never know what you're going to find.
Like in this case, a fentanyl-selling fugitive they were looking for.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE - Citrus County and the Saga of Florida Woman Stacy Usher.
If you're like my family, we did some cleaning before Thanksgiving. Had friends, family coming over. You want the house to look nice. Part of our cleaning routine is to go through the sofa cushions, because you never know what you'll find.
Hey, my car keys! Oh, so that's where the TV remote was! There's money in there!
You never know what you're going to find. And if you're the Florida police, well, it may be a fugitive you're looking for.
Police in Florida were looking for 39-year old Stacy Usher. She was wanted on a parole violation for selling Fentanyl. Police searched her home last Tuesday. They could not find her anywhere.
Have you checked the couch?
That is, until they checked the couch cushions. It turns out that's exactly where Stacy was hiding - inside the couch. I don't know how she got herself in there, but nonetheless.
Now it's unclear if the police had been tipped off by someone letting them know, hey, she's inside the couch. Or if checking the couch is a standard part of their procedure.
Either way, Stacy's in a lot of trouble. In addition to the drugs and the parole violation, she also has a history of fraud and grand theft and passing bad checks. She probably thought, this is the perfect place to hide.
She's going to need a better hiding place next time.
Top 5 “Florida Man Strikes Again” Stories For October 2023
We have to admit, it was kind of hard to pick our top five "Florida Man Strikes Again" stories for the month of October because there was just so many good ones to choose from.
We had stolen vehicles, drugs (LOTS of drugs), a return from the dead that was harder than Florida Man certainly would have wanted to be, a return to the scene of the crime, and we couldn't leave out a bad movie choice by a teacher for his students.
Choosing only five meant leaving some real gems behind.
What was your favorite Florida Man story for October?
Returning To This Walmart Was A Bad Choice For These Florida Women
We don’t know about you, but if we were to commit a crime, probably the absolute last place we would venture 24 hours later would be the exact scene of that crime.
And yet that is exactly what these two Florida Women did.

Florida Man Goes For A Job Interview and Then Steals Worst Possible Car
Florida Man was in need a job. So he went on a job interview.
For some reason, he decided to steal a car in the parking lot of the interview, a Cadillac SUV.
Turns out it was the worst possible car he could have chosen, thanks to GM’s OnStar Guardian feature which apparently can take command of the vehicle at the worst possible time for Florida Man.
