There’s Little Chance You’re As F’d Up As This DC Couple Was

Every Monday morning on the WDHA Morning Jolt we like to check in with you to see how your weekend was. We're pretty sure that no matter how you're feeling, this DC couple is in FAR worse shape than you are.

Jim Monaghan here with you Monday on the DHA Morning Jolt. How was the weekend? Everything go okay? Maybe you overindulged a little bit.

We always like to check in with you on Monday and ask you "How f'd up were you?" Because no matter how bad you might be feeling on a Monday morning, as you get yourself up and get off to work, get the kids out to school, there's always someone who's in worse shape.

Like Chenique Lofton.

There's a bunch of things going on with Ms. Lofton. One, she did the right thing. She'd been drinking, she called someone.

The problem is, by the time she called that someone, who happened to be her boyfriend, by the way, she'd already been stopped. She had allegedly sideswiped the parked vehicle, and police suspected that she might be under the influence.

So, as I said, she had called her boyfriend, who happens to be John Bewley, an off duty police officer. But he showed up at the scene in a marked police cruiser. Bewley made several attempts to interfere and obstruct the officer, who was testing Lofton's sobriety by approaching and yelling at the suspect and telling her to leave the scene with him.

That did not go over well with the police there. He also allegedly ignored the officers on the scene who were telling him, stay away.

Now, to add to all of this, the police said Bewley was also showing signs of impairment and had a strong odor of alcohol.

Nice DUI date night for this, huh?

Bewley was arrested and charged with DUI, obstruction of justice, and resisting arrest. And Lofton also charged with DUI.

So, again, no matter how bad you're feeling this morning, odds are, these two lovebirds are feeling a whole heck of a lot worse.

"And I Go Straight Back To Blackout"! WOW! What a time we had at the final (BOO) WDHA Parking Lot Party of the 2023 season with such a talented new artist. Austin Meade! This Texas native started as a drummer, found his groove as a guitar player and songwriter and has been killing it on the road for the past few years as part of some amazing tours, giant festivals and cool opening slots for bands like Godsmack and I Prevail.

Austin brought his tour to the WDHA Parking Lot the day after a fantastic show in Asbury and wowed the crowd with his guitarist David Willie (his longtime partner and collaborator) and gave the Parking Lot Party winners 6 or 7 songs! (we lost count it was so awesome) before jumping back on the bus and heading for Canada as the opener on the Dirty Honey "Can't Find The Brakes" tour. Big Thanks to our WDHA contest winners for attending the bash and always being so music passionate. Our artists really appreciate it.
