New Year's Resolutions are easy to make, and sometimes VERY hard to keep.

Take going to the gym, for example.

Sure, it's one thing to resolve to go to the gym regularly to get yourself in shape. It's another thing to do it.

Well, there's a bar in Wales that may have come up with the solution for you.

How F'd Up Were You 1-22-24

Monday morning, we always like to check in and ask you, "How F'd Up Were You?"

How are your New Year's resolutions going?

Was one of them, "I'm going to go to the gym every day," or at least go on a regular basis? Maybe you're still keeping up with it. Maybe that resolution went out the window, oh, I don't know, January 3rd or 4th.

Well, to help people keep their New Year's resolutions, there's a bar in Wales that just renamed itself "The Gym." So now people can honestly say, yes, I've gone to the gym multiple times this week. I've gone every day this week.

The real name is the Malsters Arms, and they decided to change their name to "The Gym."

Now, I don't know if they're doing this for the entire month of January or if this is an ongoing thing. Either way, you can honestly say, I've gone to the gym multiple times. I go every day.

But there is a catch

The only problem is, if it's apparent that you're not losing weight and or you come home reeking of gin or beer or something like that, it's going to be pretty obvious that something's going on.

It's a wonderful idea, though, change the name to "The Gym."

That's this morning's How F'd Up Were You? here on the DHA Morning Jolt.

5 Bands New Jersey Music Fans Pick To Get You Into Rock

Most of us can remember that song or artist that made us fall in love with rock. That tune made us say “I like this sound and I want more.” For many of us, there was one band or song that opened the door to a whole new world of rock music. And it was fascinating! I wanted to look at 5 Bands New Jersey Music fans Pick to get you Into rock!

I have a feature at 5 PM called First Call Last Call. It’s a themed block of music for your ride home that is put together based on the responses to the question of the day on the DHA Facebook page. I decided to pose this question yesterday: If a kid who has never heard a rock song came to you, what band or song would you play for them to see if they are into rock music?

The responses I got were great. Many answered with some staple classic rock bands. Some thought of modern bands who may sound more accessible to the young ones. The artists mentioned were all over the map, but some received more mentions than others.

I don’t know if I could answer my question. In fact, for most of the First Call Last Call questions I’m glad I don’t have to answer LOL! It’s especially tough for me to pick one band to use as a gateway into the world of rock music. That’s why I leave it up to the DHA listeners. Our listening family always has great, intriguing, and sometimes surprising answers. And I love that!

So, who would you pick as a gauge or introduction to see if someone is into rock music? Let’s look at 5 Bands New Jersey Music fans Pick to get you Into rock!

VAN HALEN

Van Halen is undeniably a band that kind of sums up what rock is all about. Both eras (Dave or Sammy) feature songs with electrifying guitar, pounding drums, and catchy vocals. This song is what it's all about!

FOO FIGHTERS

Dave Grohl certainly did some fantastic drumming with Nirvana.  But with Foo, he writes some amazingly catchy and powerful songs.  Backed by thumping drums and a wall of guitars,  It just works so well!

METALLICA

Sure, Metallica's fans in the 80's were thrown off by the "Black Album" release.  What were their thrash masters doing??!!  But man, if this wasn't the ultimate gateway to show mini-rockers that a band could be melodic and infectious, yet heavy, what was?

LED ZEPPELIN

Zeppelin certainly had a diverse catalog.  All of which rocked and all of which showcased what a band was capable when it was made up of extraordinary musicians.

AC/DC

Tons of mentions in the comment section for these guys on my Question of The Day.  It' straightforward rock that is bangin', with lyrical content related to rocking out, sex, and drinking.  Rock N roll baby!!
