C Is For Cookie, And Crime
As we learned from our childhood hero Cookie Monster, C is for cookie.
When it comes to Florida Man, C is also for crime, costume, and caught.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE – Cape Coral and the Saga of Florida Man Charlie Perez and Florida Woman Jalina Sepulveda.
We set the scene for you.
It is a Lowe’s store in Cape Coral where police say that Perez and Sepulveda were cruising aisles, gathering items they had no intention of paying for.
As they were walking out of the store, they were approached by a loss prevention officer who asked them to stop. That is when Perez had allegedly flashed a handgun in his waistband, and the two of them walked out.
While the cops put out stuff all over social media asking for help, an active search was issued and a helicopter deployed to locate these two.
C is for cookie, c is for costume. C is for crime.
Not exactly a great disguise
It wasn’t hard to locate these two because of the costume – they were wearing matching Cookie Monster pajamas.
Now, I don’t know about you, but if I’m going to commit a crime, the last thing I’m doing is wearing matching outfits that make it really easy for the police to find me.
Because in a matter of hours, an anonymous tip led cops to where Perez and Sepulveda were at a Circle K not far from the Lowe’s.
Well, when officers got there, Perez said, oh, officer, this whole thing is just a misunderstanding. Perez said he merely lifted his shirt up to show the loss prevention officer – See, I haven’t stolen anything.
Then Perez claimed that his gun wasn’t even with him at the time of the robbery, but instead was inside a gun safe in his home.
The charges
Well, the two of them have been charged with robbery with a weapon. And Sepulveda, she also earned an additional charge of battery following the events of the robbery.
I have a feeling that they’ll be wearing new matching outfits in prison.
