Stealing An Amazon Truck Will Not Help You If You’re Lost
If you’re lost, there are lots of ways to get back on track.
There’s GPS. There are maps. You could always ask someone for directions.
Stealing an Amazon delivery truck and then telling the cops that you thought that would help? That’s a very hard NO.
FLORIDA MAN STRIKES AGAIN!
DATELINE – Volusia County and the Saga of Florida man Matthew Houghtaling.
If you know anybody in Volusia County whose Amazon packages may have been a little late a couple of days ago, well, Houghtaling is the reason why.
An Amazon delivery driver told police that he was delivering packages when a man later identified as Houghtaling went inside the van and started it up.
The driver tried to get Houghtaling out of the van, but to no avail.
An Amazon manager contacted police because he was able to track the vehicle and watch surveillance footage from inside the van, which actually showed Houghtaling reportedly nodding off while he was driving.
Well, eventually he stopped the van at a Circle K gas station, which is where the police caught up with him.
The excuse
His excuse was interesting – according to police, Houghtaling began rambling and apologized for stealing the Amazon truck. He said that he was “lost in the neighborhood and thought that taking the vehicle would be his way out.”
Let that excuse sink in for a minute.
During the arrest and a subsequent search of the truck, police found a bag with a glass jar inside of it that had crystal like rocks, a counterfeit bill, a burnt glass pipe, as well as a bag that had a green leafy substance in it.
Well, the crystal rocks tested positive for meth and the green substance tested positive for marijuana.
Meanwhile, Houghtaling remains in custody on bond of more than $30,000 lost in the neighborhood.
He thought that stealing the van would be his way out? I guess not.

We Were The First Station In The Country To Play A CD

In 1983, WDHA was the FIRST radio station in the country to play a “Compact Disc”! Revolutionary!
What was the CD? Billy Joel’s 52nd St. (Big Shot the tune)
The sound quality of the CD at the time was truly audible on the air and the station decided to capitalize on our trailblazer reputation by offering our listeners the opportunity to hear the quality difference (at the time vinyl and carts were the source of all of our audio) by offering two features- “Laser Lunch” and Digital Dinner” with one band exclusively played from CD and the two players we were so proud of!
We Sold WDHA Custom Condoms
WDHA sold condoms in the 1980’s and early 90’s and they were a BIG seller!
The custom Condom started in the 1980’s at WDHA and was quite revolutionary in promoting rock and safe sex!
Started by station owner Bob Linder, these were sold at our studios and had the WDHA logo on the package.
